The Soviet period in Russian art marked by the large-scale construction of the Moscow Metro and, accordingly, is associated with the design of stations. The article discusses monumental mosaics created and designed by Pavel Dmitrievich Korin, a Soviet artist. The mosaics created both independently by the artist and in collaboration. The design of the national Moscow Metro importance and reflected the political mechanisms of construction the head of state. Such stations as «Komsomolskaya Koltsevaya», «Novoslobodskaya», «Paveletskaya» and «Smolenskaya» are considered. The mosaics are analyzed from the point of view of themes and their correspondence to the urban location of metro stations, color scheme, traditions used by the artist, features of the policy of the USSR and artistic techniques.
