<abstract xml:lang="ru">

The study analyzes the features of publishing in African countries based on the example of Heinemann and its projects: «African Writers Series» and «East African Educational Publishers» in Kenya. The research examines the historical, social, and economic factors that influenced the development of the Kenyan book market, as well as its role in shaping national literature and educational programs. Particular attention is given to Heinemann's contribution to the promotion of African authors, including Ngũgĩ wa Thiong'o and Francis Davis Imbuga, as well as the establishment of independent publishing in Kenya under the leadership of Henry Chakava. The study highlights the impact of the publishing industry on the formation of national cultural identity in the postcolonial period and explores the prospects for its development in the context of digitalization and globalization.
