This article raises a current topic dedicated to the question “will artificial intelligence replace artists, will it change modern art?” The purpose of this study is an attempt to determine the role of neural networks in the field of art using the example of an analysis of the neural work “Space Opera Theater” by Jason Allen. But before moving on to the analysis of the work, a review of scientific sources was carried out, where it was possible to find out that many works are devoted to the problem of copyright of works of neural networks: the author is an artist, a machine or the creators of this machine? In general, scientists provide a theoretical basis for the topic, but little practical work has been done to study the role of neural networks and AI in art. There have been no detailed analyzes of the products of neural networks, so this article is devoted to this difficult and controversial matter. As a result of the work, it was possible to find out that it is possible to carry out a philosophical and art analysis of the work of a neural network, as well as to determine the artistic idea of a work. This is due to the fact that the “Space Opera Theater” imitates the language of traditional arts. At the very end, the idea was confirmed that the artist had not lost his position as a creator; the neural network acted as an assistant. From an interview with the artist, it became clear that he spent about 80 hours of work on the piece, which was unfairly condemned by other artists, calling it a "two-click" job. At the conclusion of the article, it was said that neural networks are currently auxiliary in the field of art, but their influence is high, which can lead to strong changes in the understanding of what art is, leading to changes in its canons.
