В данной статье рассматривается художественно-образное осмысление творческой деятельности, взгляд на фигуру творца, источник вдохновения и итог творчества в мифологической живописи знаменитых художников Никола Пуссена и Жака-Луи Давида, представляющих развитие стиля классицизм в разные эпохи. Внимание автора сосредоточено на методическом анализе-сравнении двух работ. «Вдохновение поэта» (1630), принадлежащее руке Пуссена сопоставляется с произведением «Сафо и Фаон» (1808) Давида, на чье творчество значительно повлияли работы предшественника. Рассмотрение произведений с точки зрения персонажного ряда, символического значения некоторых деталей, их сопоставления и т.д. позволили обнаружить схожие черты и различия в восприятии творчества мастерами. В частности, то, что творчество – процесс, инициируемый извне, свыше, в котором творец избирается музой в силу исключительного душевного устройства человека.

This article examines the artistic and figurative comprehension of creative activity, the view of the figure of the creator, the source of inspiration and the outcome of creativity in the mythological paintings of the famous artists Nicolas Poussin and Jacques-Louis David, representing the development of the style of classicism in different eras. The author's attention is focused on a methodological analysis-comparison of two works. "Poet's Inspiration" (1630), belonging to the hand of Poussin is compared with the work "Sappho and Phaon" (1808) by David, whose work was significantly influenced by the works of his predecessor. Consideration of the works from the point of view of the character series, the symbolic meaning of some details, their comparison, etc. allowed us to discover similarities and differences in the perception of creativity by the masters. In particular, that creativity is a process initiated from the outside, from above, in which the creator is chosen by the muse due to the exceptional mental structure of a person.
